WHO WE ARE

The Cadiz Community Arts Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit community arts center which serves as the umbrella organization for the Janice Mason Art Museum and Southern Kentucky Independent Theatre. We are not a collecting museum, but focus on bringing quality art, in all its forms, to the community.  Programming includes 8-10 exhibits each year by artists from around the local area, region, and the world representing a broad variety of media and genre.  We produce at least one theatrical offering per year, and offer classes and workshops in several disciplines.

EVENTS & CLASSES

25th Anniversary Geocache Challenge

As part of the Janice Mason Art Museum’s 25th anniversary celebration, the museum board decided to hold a Geocache Challenge.  We are proud to be part of the history of Cadiz and wanted to highlight other historical places and events within the Cadiz city limits.  There are 7 JMAM geocaches placed throughout the City of Cadiz. If you locate each geocache, and collect a numbered aluminum tree tag from each cache, you can turn them in at the Janice Mason Art Museum and receive one of 200 (??) Commemorative Coins created for this event.  The challenge began September 18.

Make & Mingle Class Schedule

As part of our 25th anniversary celebration this year, we are offering monthly Make & Mingle classes!  Click to see the schedule and topics of the sessions.  Class sizes are limited, so don’t delay in calling to reserve your spot! To register for classes or to get more information, call the museum at 270-522-9056 or stop by.

Dining with the Dearly Departed

We had a fantastic weekend producing the 2023 Dining with the Dearly Departed shows (Sept 14-16). The audiences were wonderful, the cast did a great job telling their amazing stories, the food was delicious, and the weather was perfect!
The above photo is this year’s cast. This year the Janice Mason Art Museum is celebrating its 25th anniversary. With that in mind, the theme for the show was “Trigg County artists.”
We want to say a special thank you to Hancock’s Neighborhood Market for catering the meal and to the City of Cadiz for the use and care of East End Cemetery. And a big thank you goes to Chad Miracle for videoing and photographing the performances.

Have you browsed through our gift shop lately?  We have a great shop filled with unique items, many of which are made by local artists.  Click here to see some examples of what is available for purchase in our shop.
